Happy New Year!
I usually spend New Year's Eve with my family. We all end up doing our own thing meaning playing video games, watching movies or chatting online or the phone all night. When it gets close to midnight, we get our sparkling apple cider ready. Once the new year rings in, we toast and all yell happy new year. After a couple of minutes, we usually head to bed.
This year I chose to go play bingo with my mom and sisser, Odie. We went to two sessions. OMG, I don't think I'll do that again. My butt is still numb from sitting so dinged dang long. Anyhoo, I ended up winning twice today (a total of $375). Mom won once but ended up splitting with 4 others so she only won $50 but hey at least she won some of her money back. Odie won once but split with 2 others so she ended up winning $83.25. She yelled bingo twice but one of them she marked an incorrect number 8 so she really didn't have it. Poor Odie!
When I got home from bingo, I brought all kinds of party hats, horns and lei's. They were kind of excited but I think they were all still mad at me for not being home with them. I tried to explain that sometimes mommy's need to do things without always being with them. They aren't hearing that. My little one is really mad at me. She even broke the lei I brought her. When I asked her why she did it...her answer was "Happy New Year isn't happy when mommy's aren't here." "Mommy's make things more fun!"
Dang, there goes the guilt building up inside me. I gotta love those spoiled kiddies.
