I took Joseph in for a CT Scan last week (Tuesday, I think). I called the doc on Thursday to see if the scan had gotten there yet. All I got was voice mail. I left a message asking for them to call me. Of course, I didn't hear anything back. I called again on Friday. Still I got voice mail...I called back again after a couple of hours...voice mail again...I left another message but not so cheery...I continued to call almost every hour on the hour because the weekend was coming and I wanted to know my son was ok. I didn't want to go through the whole weekend not knowing if everything was all right.
**I just kept thinking about my grandfather and Lawrence's daughter from a previous marriage** Needless to say, I was a mess with all the waiting.
Finally, I get a call from the nurse in Dr. S's office. She let me know that Joseph's CT scan came back and there was nothing to worry about. Everything looked normal. Doc wanted to see Joseph on Monday so he could release him back to play football.
With all that said, Joseph was allowed to go back to football. He was excited once he was released but a little nervous too. He kept saying coach isn't gonna put me in at practice mom because I've been out too long. I told him that would be ok but just dress down and be ready just in case. As soon as the coach saw Joseph was dressed for practice, he asked for the release form and put Joseph in on the first play. So much for I don't think coach will put me in mom. LOL
Anyhoo, about halfway through practice Joseph got a headache...a bad headache! He said it was not so bad at first so he continued to practice but at one point the headache was excruciating so he asked coach if he could sit out the rest of the practice or until the headache went away. He almost didn't get to practice this day though because some one stole his thigh pads. Luckily, coach had an extra set on the field.
The next day Joseph didn't get to dress for practice because I've been having to take him out of class so much for doc appointments, he had to make up a test that he missed. By the time he made it to practice, the coach had locked up all the equipment. So no practice time for him on this day.
Wednesdays are light practice days because the guys just run through plays for Thursdays games. Joseph didn't get to dress for this practice either. This time they stole his thigh pads and hip pads. Some one else had a helmet missing. And there were other bags that had been messed with and were missing stuff. So again no practice for Joseph.
Poor kid is so ready to play. He hopes coach lets him dress for today's game even if he doesn't get to play. He just wants to do something. Joseph is hoping that coach lets him dress for the game and maybe just maybe he might need Joseph for ONE play. We'll see. I'll keep you all posted.

.:11:22 AM:. Stuff!
Yesterday, I had a Girl Scout training class I had to attend. I really didn't want to attend the class for two reasons. One reason being that my sister, Mary, her husband, Rene' and my niece, Natalie all came to town yesterday to visit for the day. And reason two, I had the worst headache one person could have.
Even though I had this headache, I took the kids and dropped them off at mom's house so they could visit with their cousin, Natalie. Then I went to the meeting. The meeting ended up lasting about an hour and a half. I thought it was only gonna be an hour. I sat through the meeting even though I was in pain.
After the meeting, I went back to mom's house. I tried to sit and visit with my sister and her husband but my head was aching. It seems that my headache was affecting my left eye. The pain was strongest right behind my eye. I'm sitting there talking with my eye closed. Then I started playing with my niece. OMG she is getting more and more adorable. Her little voice is cute as ever.
I only got to visit about an hour maybe an hour and a half. I was still in such great pain. I got the kids together and we came home. As soon as we got home, I immediately took Bayer asprin (to thin my blood a little - just in case) then jumped in bed. By this time, I felt like my head was going to explode. I've never had a headache that bad. My headache was so bad it was making me nauseous. I kept thinking about this guy's wife my husband had told me about when we were stationed at FE Warren. She had told her husband that she had an excruciating headache. Her husband told her to go lay down and rest a little. She never woke up. She died from an aneurysm.
The kids were great in helping make life easier. Christy and Joseph locked up the house. Nikki as adorable as could be, put her mommy to bed. She layed next to me in bed whispering "It's okay mommy, just rest your head like you tell me." At one point, I opened my eyes and looked at her and she had already fallen asleep. Then I was out!
Today, my headache is gone! Thank goodness.
Joseph
Joseph will be going in for a CAT scan next week. I'll be able to rest better once I see everything is fine with that. His team won again, 32-0 against Rosemont High.
