Can't Handle It Anymore

Ok, I know that I said I wouldn't be getting around to making a new layout until after I closed down my Girl Scout troops in June. Well I can't stand it anymore so I've started something.

My plans are to redo my whole layout including my Quilting Bee quilt. So those of you bees that I have requested a trade with recently, please forgive me if I don't put up your patches just yet. I just want to do a little redecorating first.

I know what I want my layout and my quilt to look like but its just getting it all down in the note pad. I'm sure I will start it late tonight or tomorrow while I am waiting for the delivery of my new bed.

Yup, I am getting my new bed tomorrow. My old bed is causing me backaches and neck aches. Its over 10 years old. I've done everything you are supposed to do to a mattress. Flip it, rotate it, turn it; well I think I can't do any more of those that will help me. I went out and spent a gazillion bucks on my new bed. Sissers think I got taken. Honestly, I probably did but I just know it felt so good to lay comfortably so I bought it.

How long have you had your mattress?

Name

I got this name link from
Cuzzy and it was pretty right on about me. How weird is this? You should try it out yourself. How well did it read you?

Dictionary of Names

This is what it said about my name:

Your name of Janice gives you a clever mind, good business judgment, a sense of responsibility, and an appreciation of the finer things of life. You are serious-minded and not inclined to make light of things even in little ways, and in your younger years you had more mature interests than others your age. Home and family mean a great deal to you and it is natural that you should desire the security of a peaceful, settled home environment where you can enjoy the companionship of family and friends. Whatever you set out to accomplish you do your very best to complete in accordance with what you consider to be right. In the home you assume your responsibilities capably, having the self-confidence to form your own opinions and make your own decisions. Others can rely on you; once you have given your word you will do your utmost to fulfil a responsibility. However, there is a tendency to be a little too independent in your thinking and it is difficult for you to accept the help of others when you should. Due to your strong sense of responsibility, you could experience worry and mental turmoil through assuming more responsibility than you should. Friction could arise through others feeling that you were interfering with their rights and privileges, even though you are only trying to help.

Pictures

I've finally gotten around to putting some images on my site. I don't have all of the ones I want because I had to reformat my desktop and they are on a couple of cds. I just haven't had the time to go search for them. I will though one of these days. Most of the pictures I have added are more recent, they are off my laptop.

A New Layout

I really want a new layout but I think I will have to wait until Girl Scouts is out for the year. That won't be until the end of June.

Updates

I've been doing really great with getting my updates done. I wish everyone else would update more frequently, it makes being online that much more fun. **Hint, hint**

Not Again

Tonight as I was eating dinner, I get a call from
Odie. She says "Jane, she did it again!" I'm totally confused replying, "What are you talking about?" Mom passed out at bingo.

So let me explain...Mom is sick with a cold right now. Everyone in the family is sick right now with a cold, Odie had the cold first. She says it wasn't her fault that everyone has a cold but what do you think? LOL

Anyhoo, Mom has the cold and decides she wants to go play bingo with Odie. They go and start playing and all of a sudden she starts coughing. She said she reached for the cough drops and that is the last thing she remembered. She passed out! This time she hit her head and her shoulder. The ambulance came to get her and took her to the hospital. Odie calls me kind of a mess, after all, it is freaky when you see your mom's eyes roll in the back of her head.

Now those of you who read my page often, know that this has happened to my Mom before except I was the one with her at bingo. I'm telling you I know exactly what Odie was feeling when she called me. Its the scariest thing to ever happen. Last time, Mom had cracked a couple of ribs.

I, immediately, got ready to go to the hospital. Hubby went with me. When I got there, of course, Mom cried a little because she was scared. After sitting and talking with her for a few minutes, I told her she isn't allowed to play bingo when she has a cold or when she has those bad coughing fits. She agreed!

I spoke to the doctor before leaving the hospital, and he says she seems to be fine. Although, they wanted to take some test. It is now 12:22 AM and Odie just called they released her from the hospital and she is on her way home now.

Thank goodness Mom is gonna be fine.

No more bingo for Mom when she is sick everyone!!! **puts foot down**

Girls Night Out

Well if you all have been reading, you know that we (
Rancine, Odie, Maimee, Cuzzy & Myself) were all supposed to go out for another girls night out. Did we? Or didn't we?

"Girls Night Out" started last year when Rancine came home to visit from Indiana (She now lives in Michigan). We decided that we would have a girls night out every time Rancine came home because that would usually happen once a year.

Rancine came home on March 15th and we were supposed to go out on the following weekend, March 18th. On the 17th, late on the 17th, I get a phone call from Cuzzy. She tells me she isn't going that her job has been too hectic and stuff. Okies, I can understand that BUT Rancine only makes it into town ONCE a year.

Anyhoo, Cuzzy said she would have Maimee call me but I didn't get a call so I called Maimee at work the next day, which is the day we were all supposed to be going to parttttyyyyy. She said "Jane, I'm going." I'm like you better. LOL After she made some phone calls, Maimee called me and said she would meet us there. And she did!

Since Cuzzy didn't go, Rancine wanted to invite Mike (Her boyfriend) and Lawrence (My hubby) to go. I've been keeping hubby so busy remodeling our bathrooms that he was too tired to go. Although he was too tired to party, he drove us to the Elephant Bar, where we ate dinner (BTW, we sat at the exact same table as last year. Weird huh?) and he dropped us off and came back later to pick us up at the Double Tree. Isn't he a good hubby?

I thought to myself, there goes our girls night out if Mike came and was the only guy but it was ok because we had a blast. I thought if Rancine brought Mike she wouldn't wanna dance and stuff because she would just sit with him. They both proved that theory wrong because Rancine got up quicker to dance than when us girls go (we have to get her drinking a lot then she finally comes on the dance floor).

During the first hour at the club, Mike kept telling Rancine he wasn't gonna dance because they would just end up throwing him out of the club for not knowing how to dance. Of course, we all laughed. Needlesstosay, Mike and Rancine were the first ones out on the dance floor. Or was it Maimee? Hmmmm, I can't remember now.

Once the night started rollin', Odie was drinking like crazy but the dang waitress was taking so long in between drinks she couldn't get a good buzz going. Mike was drinking like Odie and it was showing because he was out there shaking his booty. Go Mike, Go Mike! Rancine was cracking me up because she was imitating Mike doing his dance that all I could do was laugh. Maimee was dancin' her booty off. She is such a great dancer. And then there was me! Let me just say, "I don't like my hair pulled dammit!"

One day I'll tell you all what that means. LMAO!

**Oh yeah, I have pictures. I'll show you later.** I didn't take as many as I did last year. I kept forgetting because I was too busy shaking my booty out of the dance floor.

My 15th Wedding Anniversary

Lawrence and I didn't really have big plans for our 15th anniversary. As a matter of fact, we weren't really gonna do anything. Everyone kept asking what we were gonna do. I kept saying "nothing." So we decided to go do something just because everyone kept saying it was a big deal.

Anyhoo, I know the 15th wedding anniversary is supposed to big but all we did was go out to dinner together. Then we came home and watched a movie. We were gonna go out and see a movie, either "Miss Congeniality 2 or Hitch". We didn't see either. We came home and watched "Tombstone," one of our favorites.

We took the kids over to moms.
Odie and Mom were both happy to have the kids around. That's it folks.

Not Again

Rancine and Mike went back to Detroit today. They left this morning at 4AM to catch their flight.

Once again, I cried when she left. I hate when I do that but its because I look at her like she is my own daughter. I've raised her and Odie all my life. Okay, maybe not alllll my life but since I was 12 years old. I was the oldest daughter of four girls so I took care of them all.

I know the twins are grown women but it just seems like yesterday that I was bragging to the whole hospital waiting room that my mom had twins and they were gonna be coming down in the elevator soon.

Anyhoo, I hate it when she leaves us. I wish Mike would hurry and get a job here in California. The job doesn't even have to be here in Sacramento. We just wish she was in California so if we want to drive and see her, we can. Right now, Michigan is too dang far to drive and too expensive to fly for the whole family.

Rancine was telling me that Mike is going to try to get a job in Dixon because there is supposed to be a new track opening up. Dixon is only about 20-30 minutes from where we are. I hope he really has real intentions of trying to get a job in Dixon. One time he told us he was trying to get a job at Cal Expo, the email sounded promising and everything but then he didn't follow through. I'm trying hard not to get my hopes up but thats really hard because I want my sisser to move back home.

Sisser, I miss you! So do the kiddies!!!

A House Full

We've had a house full for a couple of days! We owe it all to my sisser,
Rancine. She is here in California visiting from Michigan with her boyfriend, Mike. It's been fun having the family all in one house.

My other sisser, Mary, from Prunedale came down to visit with my niece, Natalie. My Dad traveled up from Barstow to come and see Rancine. Mom & Odie live right here in town so they didn't have to travel at all. LOL Then my whole clan was here in the house, Lawrence (hubby), Joseph, Christy, Nikki and myself. Oh yeah, Swiper (my cockatiel) & Mushu (my cat). What they count!?!

They are all out doing their own things right now but will be back for dinner here in a couple of minutes. I'm serving leftovers from last nights barbque (Beef ribs, pork ribs, chicken & hotdogs) and then we still have a few lumpia left. Everyone will be fighting over those, I'm sure! I'm also serving crabs, mussels & shrimp cooked in coconut milk and a big pot of white rice. Yum! They better hurry before I start without them.

Oh and then I have some oysters that I am gonna steam in the oven for Dad. Mom can't eat them any more because of her gout. I don't think any of my sisters eat them except Mary and she has already left to go home because she has to work tomorrow. Okies thats it! Until next time...

Remodeling My Bathrooms

Hubby has a couple of weeks off for vacation so we are finally remodeling our bathrooms! I'm so excited. We've already gone and purchased new cabinets, sinks, faucets, paint, tiling and so much more.

The past two days we have been removing wall paper that was on the walls. OMG, the folks that lived here before had way too much wall paper. They put wall paper on top of wall paper on top of wall paper on top of dry wall. Can you believe that?

Odie came over yesterday while we were waiting for sisser to get here and finished taking the paper off. She should have been at her place cleaning up since she is supposed to be totally moved out tomorrow but she stayed and helped her big sisser. Thanks Odie! Sorry I haven't gotten over to your place to help out. I have too much on my plate but whats new?

Anyhoo, I sprayed a texture on my main bathroom walls. Once that all dried, I started painting. I have the first coat on so in the morning I will be adding the second. I also cut the tile for the floor and will be putting that in after the second coat. Hopefully I will be able to put my sink and toilet back in there. Hubby cut the new base boards and painted them for me in the garage. Those will be ready in the morning. I actually think we will be done with the main bathroom tomorrow. Then we get to start in the master bathroom. Yayyyy!

Sisser Made It

Rancine and Mike made it in last night at the scheduled time. It sure is nice having them home.

They had a little trouble getting their rental car, which made them run late getting to my house. The kids were so disappointed that they had to go to sleep before seeing their Auntie but she will see them tomorrow. She has been helping Odie get moved out of her place completely.

Sisser Is Coming Home

Thank goodness my little
sisser is coming home today. Yes! I did say today. I'm telling you we need her right now.

Odie is going through a world of hurt and I am trying hard to help her get through it. I know once sisser gets here things will be better. Its a twin thing! Maybe a sisser thing! I just know that if we are ALL together we will get Odie through this rough time in her life. We love you Odie!

Friday night we are going on another famous "Girls Night Out." I know we are going to have tons of fun. OMG, we are going out on Friday and I'm still fat. I forgot to go on my diet so I don't look so fat. LMAO! I'll post pictures after I blackmale them all. (did I spell that right?)

Offline

As you all can tell, I haven't been online for a couple of weeks. OMG, I was so having a cow not being able to be here. I am so addicted to the internet its not even funny.

It isn't even that I come online that much BUT its the idea, if I want to be online, I can just log on. I still don't really know what happened. I just know I couldn't connect and I have DSL. The thing that started it all was my son was online and left an IE window up on one of his sites he visits. In the meantime, he left the computer for hours while we ran errands and such. When we came home and tried to get on the computer, there were a GAZILLION ads on my screen. Folks, I am not exagerating, there were tons of ads so many that it took us about an hour to click out of them all. And you know ads, you click to close them and then three more open. Ughhhh!

Anyhoo, hubby started deleting things and then the puter really started acting up. At this point, I was still able to get online so I wasn't freaking out to badly. Then I don't know what happened but we couldn't get online. My DSL kept trying to dial out. Well those of you with DSL know you don't have to dial out you just sign on and you are connected.

So here I am trying to contact SBC to see what is going on, I have this guy trying to help me but everything he tells me to do my puter still wants to dial out. Also during this time, I thought, oh great my puter is broke, so I talked hubby into buying me a new laptop. I've been wanting it since before Christmas. Well I got a new one. I come home thinking, oh now I will get online because I have a new puter. Well guess what? Yup, I still couldn't get online!

I called SBC again. Stayed on the phone forever with another guy. Still nothing. I ended up having to hang up because during all this I still have real life going on. I, finally get time to sit down again a couple of days later, going on more than two weeks now and talk to another SBC worker (Third person now). After being on the puter for more than 2 hours, she tells me that she has exhausted all her knowledge and she is going to transfer me to someone who will be able to solve my problem. She even promised at that point.

She transfers me to a guy named Kyle or Kevin, something like that and he asked me a couple of questions. We went through and checked some things on my lappie top. He said with all the settings being correct, I shouldn't be having any problem getting online. So he instructs me to unplug my DSL modem, restart my puter and while the puter is coming back up, plug the DSL modem back in. He did a line test said it was fine then told me to try and connect. I'll be damned it worked!

My question is "WHY IN THE HELL DIDN'T THEY TRANSFER ME TO THAT GUY AFTER THE FIRST GUY?" I was only on the phone with the "K" guy for less than 5 minutes. Dweebs!!!

***Big deep breath***

I'm back!!! Yayyyy!
