.:9:46 PM:.
OMG ITS TIME FOR AN UPDATE!!!

Well its been like forever since I have updated. So long in fact, I don't know where to start.

I could tell you that I went to see cuzzy at her house on Wednesday for dinner and came home sicker than a dog...but I won't! Let me just say I won't be eating anything with LIME in it for a long while.

Or I could tell you about me signing up to sell at a craft fair with my cuzzy. I'm not anywhere near being ready for this! I am gonna sell scrapbook photo albums...but I won't. Let me start with something simple. Yeah thats it!

Patches

I've been getting new patches in my email but just haven't had time to add them so I am gonna do that now. I got some cute ones! Please click on the patches to see the greats sites they are attached to.

Thank you everyone for trading with me!

Award

I never in a million years thought, me of all people, would get a nomination for an award but I got a "Random Bee-ut Award." Can you believe it? It's so cool. I am thinking of putting an extra little link on my quilt page so the award patch can stand out by itself. LOL Maybe I am just being silly. I'm so excited!

Go ahead and tell me how cool it is! LMAO!

GIRL SCOUTS

Those of you who know me, knows that I just took on a huge commitment. I decided to become my daughter's Troop Leader. I am in charge of 13 girls ranging from 8 - 11 years of age. All girls people!! All in one room!! LOL Not only have I taken on this commitment but I have commited others with me.

Yes folks, you heard me right. I obligated others to take on the task at hand with me. I am dragging one of my sissers into this with me, Odie (short for Jodi). I have obligated her to be my co-leader. We did have a conversation about it before I completely obligated her. The conversation went something like this...

Me: "Hey Odie, yanno I'm going to be Christy's troop leader. I went to the thingy (thingy meaning meeting at my daugher's school - she understood what I meant) and signed up."

Odie: "Oh really? You already signed up?"

Me: "Yeah, they wanted to put her on a waiting list. You know I wouldn't let that happen."

Odie: "I know sisser."

Me: "Yanno you don't have to be a mom to volunteer at the meetings?"

Odie: "Slug bug green! I called it first its on my team!" (a little game we play in the car when we see a VW Beetle - thanks to my littlest daughter)

Needless to say, the conversation stopped there. No more was said until later. I think she was trying to change the subject but it didn't work because I came back to it later.

Later

After a day of checking out scrapbook stores, the conversation continued...

Me: "Yanno sisser, you don't have to be a mom to come to the Girl Scout meetings."

Odie: "Uh huh."

Me: "Yanno sisser, you don't even have to have a daughter in Girl Scouts."

Odie: **silence**

Me: "Sisser, did you know anyone can volunteer at meetings....Grandmothers, Moms, Auntiessssss?"

Odie: **histerical laughter** "Okay, let me think about it."

Me: "OK"

Me (a minute later): "Have you decided yet?"

And that folks was the end of it, she is my daughter, her niece's co-leader! Yayyyy!

More Committing

Okies remember in the beginning of my Girl Scout story, I said I had obligated others with an "s"? Yup, I did it to someone else. Not just my sisser! I got my CUZZY!!! Yayyyy me!

Actually, cuzzy called me one day from work. Not anything outta the norm, she does that frequently. Well we are talking about stuff and more stuff and out of the blue she says something that catches my attention. The conversation went something like this...

Cuzzy: "How come you didn't ask me to be your co-leader?"

Me: **right away answering already knowing that I want her to come aboard the leader/co-leader thing** "I didn't think you would be interested."

Cuzzy: "Well yanno I like to do crafty stuff. I think I could handle that but do you think Odie would be offended if I came aboard?"

Me: "No, I'm sure she wouldn't be but I can talk to her and see for sure."

Cuzzy: "o0o0o we could do this and this (as she is naming things to do) oh yeah and this too."

Me: "Yeah that would be fun having all three of us there at the meetings."

Cuzzy: "Well when we meet for dinner tonight, let me know what exactly a co-leaders duties would be."

Me: "Okies, talk to you later." (I just love later...LOL)

Later Again

I was supposed to meet my cuzzy for dinner @ 5:30 PM with two of my scrapbook photo albums, a disc that she wanted to borrow and my Girl Scout resource books (so cuzzy can check them out) BUT I was a bit late because my other sisser, Mare (short for Mary... LOL)called me on my way out the door.

Off the subject for a minnie...She just recently moved into her new house (only been about 2 weeks) and their house had already been broken into. The robbers took lots of stuff such as their BOSE system, rifles, shotguns, hunting knives, my niece's jewelry, digital camera, camcorder, worn Nikes .. LOL and so much more ...

Anyhoo, I'm just happy my family wasn't there when those fools broke in. They are all safe!

Now back to the committing story...

LOL...I forgot to bring all the stuff I was supposed to bring because like I said my sisser called when I was walking out the door. So I drive to cuzzy's house which isn't that far, I pick her up and then let her know we have to go back to my house to pick up the junk I left behind. We finally get the stuff and I start driving without finding out where we were gonna go for dinner. This is a normal thing with us. We never know what we want to eat or where. We always end up with the conversation that goes like this...

Me: "Where do you want to go for dinner?"

Cuzzy: "I don't care; where do you want to go?"

Me: "I don't care either; do you want mexican, chinese, american, fast food, or sit down and eat?"

Cuzzy: "Hmmmmm, I don't know Jane (her nickname for me), you pick."

Me: Noooo, why do I always have to pick? You chose!"

Meanwhile, I am just driving. As I am getting close to certain places, I say...

Me: Well if we want THIS, I should turn here but if we want THAT I should go straight. So what do we want?"

On and On we go. Finally, Cuzzy and I went to a chinese buffet for dinner. After we both load up so we don't have to get up so quickly, we sit and start talking about stuff. Me, all I want to talk about is how to get my cuzzy signed up so she will do Girl Scouts with me.

I can't really remember exactly what we talked about that night. I know we talked about our backgammon ladder and about the craft fair. I just know we had a good time as we always do. Yanno with laughter and stuff and then more laughter.

Anyhoo, a day or two goes by...

Me: "I went and bought me a couple of Leader shirts. I bought a black one and then a dark green one."

Cuzzy: "Oh thats good Jane. Did Odie get one too?"

Me: "No, not yet."

Cuzzy: "Well Jane, I think I will just see how the first meeting and stuff goes before I make a commitment."

Me: "Okies."

The next day or was it a few minutes later...

Me: "Ummm, cuzzy don't get mad or anything...but errrr ... ummmm ... I ordered you a tee shirt."

Cuzzy: "WHAT? Look at my cuzzy, she is all excited and goes and orders my tee shirt when I'm not sure I'm gonna actually do this."

Me: **giggling** "Well they were only $9.99 and normally they are $22 bucks."

Cuzzy: "o0o0o, that is good!"

There you have it again folks! I have obligated not only my sisser but then my cuzzy too. And yanno wut? If I had my other sisser, Rancine (short for Francine) here, I would obligate her too. Actually, it wouldn't take much doing from Rancine to join. She absolutely loves kids! On the other hand, Odie and Cuzzy aren't and I did say AREN'T big kid people. LMAO!!!

First Meeting

OH yeah! We did have our first meeting. Everything went great! I had to meet with the parents as leader and I think they were impressed and my co-leaders (laughing) met with the girls and I think they were happy to be doing fun girl stuff.

As for my co-leaders, Odie seemed to be overly happy about the meeting like "hug-a-tree happy" and my cuzzy was overly organized/grossed out about the meeting like "Can I bring Clorox wipes to our next meeting organized/grossed out?"

And me? Well, keep tuned in and find out...

.:6:59 PM:.
STUFF, STUFF & MORE STUFF!!!

This seems to have been the longest two weeks I have ever experienced! Last weekend was the worlds longest weekend in history! Most of you are probably thinking -- "What's wrong with a long weekend?" Let me tell you!

Halloween

Well Halloweenie started a little early for me, I, once again procrastinated in getting the kids costumes. I don't know why I always wait until there aren't anymore good costumes. When I do this, I just make more work for myself. I wait until the last possible day, which in this case was Tuesday night because my daughter, Christy had her Fall Festival on Wednesday. I volunteered to work at her class booth selling buttons and she was supposed to be there with me with a costume on. Therefore, we really needed to get her costume on Tuesday night.

She wanted to be Belle from Beauty and the Beast. Wouldn't ya just know it, we couldn't find one in her size. I had to go to a gazillion stores to find one and when I did finally find one it was a little snug. I had to buy it anyways because she wanted to be Belle so badly, how could I refuse? I couldn't!

I failed to take a picture of her on Wednesday night because I suck at being a "take a picture of everything mom!" Then I failed to take a picture of her before we started trick or treating on Friday. I told ya I suck big time when it comes to taking pictures of main events. I have no excuse either. ( hubby recently bought me a new digital camera, I also own a Canon 35 mm and then I even have a video camera BUT I always seem to forget about pictures until the event is over -- sighs)

Anyhoo, my sisser took a couple of pictures after the kids were done trick or treating. You can find them
here

My Niece's Christening

Mass: Noon
Ceremony: 1 PM
Reception: 2 PM

My niece's christening went well once it all got started. ::shaking head:: At around 10:30 AM the morning of the christening, the restuarant we had reservations at called to verify that we would still be there. We told them yes that there would be approximately 70 people. We then hung up the phone.

We were all getting ready to go to the church. By we, I am talking about myself, my hubby, Joseph, Christy, Nikki, Mom, Jodi ( my sisser), Mary (my other sisser), Rene (Mary's hubby) and Natalie (my niece). We are all trying to get ready without stepping on each other. We were supposed to be at the church for mass at noon. Well we didn't leave my house until about 12:15 PM. I had to make a stop at Payless Shoe Store to get my little girl some shoes (between all that was going on we couldn't find her dress shoes we bought for her purdy dress) so we went to buy more.

Anyhoo, we finally get to the church about 12:30 PM. As we are standing outside in the wind (yes, it was a bit chilly), my sister, Mary, says we were supposed to be here at noon. I knew that and my sister, Jodi, knew this but it was Mary who was telling everyone to be there at 12:30 PM. It literally was her fault that we didn't attend mass. Bad sisser!!

So we are standing there waiting for mass to get finished, we didn't want to go into the church during mass because that would have been disruptive. As we are standing there, my brother-in-law says to me, "By the way, Andre left his house at 12:30 PM and he has to still pick up my mom." Well folks, Andre was supposed to be the godfather as I was to be the godmother. AND we were supposed to baptize my niece at 1 PM. Now, I am getting really nervous. I ask my sister, "what if Dre doesn't get here in time?" She says in a calm manner, "I guess we will just ask Lawrence." Lawrence is my hubby for those of you that don't know and he ISN'T Catholic! So I tell her that and again calmly she says, "ok then we will ask Danny." I'm thinking and then asking her who is Danny? Please introduce me so I at least know who I will be standing with if Dre doesn't show up.

One o'clock finally rolls around. Everyone is coming out of the church. Still no Dre! We get inside the church and the Father lets us know that there will be another couple baptizing their little girl as well. As he is talking to my sister and brother-in-law, Dre shows up. Thank goodness!!!

The ceremony goes well and I have another god daughter! Yayyyyyy!!!

The Reception

Remember earlier in this book, I told you all that the restuarant called at 10:30 AM to confirm we would be there. Well when we got to the restuarant at 2:20 PM (the ceremony ran long because 2 christenings instead of the one), I had family in the front of the restaurant. When I walked up, the first thing they said was the guy was gonna cancel our reservations. I literally ran ((okies, I walked fast)) into the restuarant to let this guy know we were there. After he was rude with me, we finally got everything settled and started to have our party seated.

Things were going good until my sister, Mary paid the bill early. We had the reservation from 2 - 5 PM. She paid the bill at about 4 PM because some people were already getting ready to get on the road. That was a HUGE mistake because once she paid the bill, the waiters and waitresses started seating people in the room where we were still eating and talking. I asked my sister is she wanted me to say something and she said no its ok because its only a couple of tables. Well before you know it, they asked me to move so they could sit someone at the table. Of course, I told the guy NO in a polite way. I also let him know we still had people eating that we weren't done. He went to the other side of the room to someone else in my family and asked them to move. NOW, he went and pissed off my brother-in-law!

Rene let him know that this wasn't very professional of him to seat people and double book. He was trying to make money on our already paid for party. Anyhoo, Rene handled it perfectly ((without cussin' or anything)). Yayyyy! We stayed until exactly 5 PM and left that place. We won't be back after being treated like that.

The Weekend Is Still Here

After the reception, we had a group come to the house. Mom, Mary, Rene, Natalie, Maimee, Joseph (my cousin), Carol (Joseph's significant other) & Joseph's five kids came back to my house. It was nice seeing everyone and having them visit. But I have to tell ya, when they all left, I was so glad to have my house back to just me and my family! That was a longggggg weekend!
